Dea Wissell 1928-1922 It is with heavy hearts that the family announces Dea's passing on January 5, 2022 at the age of 93 after a brief illness. Son of the late Thomas and the late Rosa (née Martin) Wissell. Beloved husband of the late Jacqueline (née Lemieux) Whissell. Loving father of Jacques Whissell (predeceased), Liliane Fantin (Dr. Joseph, predeceased), Jeannine McDonald (Bruce), Paul (Karen Rinta) and Pierre (Carole Herard). Loving grandfather of Dr. Natalie McDonald (Todd Patterson), Stacey McDonald (Cory Gould), Dr. Mathieu Fantin (Mijanou Gaboury-Fantin), Melina Whissell, Nicholas Whissell, Payton Whissell, Max Whissell and Madison Whissell. Great-grandfather to Reese Patterson, Nolan Patterson, Arianne Fantin, Gabrielle Fantin, Gabriel Gould and Dominic Gould. Sadly missed by his siblings, Jeannette Brisson (Lionel “Joe” predeceased), Agnes Lafreniere (Gilbert predeceased) and Claude Wissell (Claudette predeceased). Predeceased by his other siblings, Raoul (Ray), Ovide (Pauline), Eglantine (Armand Poulin), Gerald (Alma), Roland, Rodolphe (Marcelle), Jean-D'Arc (Al Specht) and Richard (Brenda). Sadly missed by many nephews, nieces, family and friends. A resident of Coniston since 1950, Dea was a long time Inco employee retiring in 1985 after 35 years of service. He continued doing what he loved in numerous carpentry projects. He also enjoyed spending many summers at Cache Lake with his loving wife, gardening, fishing, hunting and spending time with family. His children and grandchildren were the apple of his eye. In his later years he still enjoyed driving the boat and lawn tractor, long walks and fishing. The family would like to acknowledge and thank all the staff in the Whitson Neighbourhood at Villa St.Gabriel Villa for many years of sharing and caring of our Dad. We also wish to acknowledge and thank all the staff at HSN, including Dr. Sam Stone, Dr. Snyder, Dr. Jackson, Dr. Patel and all the nursing staff in recovery and fourth floor who cared for our father. Due to the pandemic, there will be no visitation. Private family service will be held by invitation only due to restrictions. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Elgin St. Mission (Sudbury) would be appreciated.
