- Springsteel, Stanley Clair
SPRINGSTEEL _ Stanley Clair of Langley, BC passed away on November 15, 2005.
He will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces,
grandnephews, his surviving brother, Elwyn and special lifetime friends, Mr.
and Mrs. H. Sissons of St. Paul, Alberta. Clair was born May 27, 1912 in
Vegreville, Alberta. He celebrated his 93rd birthday last May. In 1939, at
age 27, he joined the Canadian 5th Armoured Division, 49th Regt., Edmonton
(the Loyal Eddies). He served overseas during WWII in England. Italy and
Holland. On his return to Canada, he moved to Vancouver and married Marcella
Lavoie, of St. Paul, Alberta. After Marcella's death in 2001, Clair moved
into George Derby Centre in Burnaby. Thanks to the nurses and staff of
George Derby Centre for their kindness and care during Clair's last years.
Also, thanks to Dr. Froese. A Memorial Service will be held at
Columbia-Bowell Chapel, 219 6th St., New Westminster, BC on Tuesday,
November 29th at 11:00 a.m.
