    • WHISSELL, Rosario Alexander Born in Ottawa, Ontario on October 4, 1924. Passed away on June 27, 2005 in Richmond, BC Survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Violet Denniston. Rosario and Vi have four loving children: Patricia (Ivan) Slatten, Violet (Gordon) McGregor, Sylvia Watt and Jim (Deanna) Whissell; grandchildren Sandra (Ryan) Fuller, Jeff Slatten, Andrew (Kate) and Hayley Watt, Joshua and Nathan Whissell and Zachary; two elder sisters Berengere Sabourin (Quebec) and Pauline (Al) Mulholland (Toronto); cherished sister-in-law Dorothy Sample (Ottawa) and sons Frank (Betty) and Rick. Rosario was a devoted member of French Baptist and Bethany Baptist Churches (Ottawa) and Grandview Calvary Baptist Church (Vancouver). He worked for the Federal Government Health and Welfare (Ottawa) and was a dedicated driver for the Cerebral Palsy Association. He was wounded in World War II and struggled with Parkinsons for over 21 years, with a sense of humour to the end. Rosario was a skilled craftsman and left a legancy of wooden treasures. He loved sports, missed becoming a hockey player, and enjoyed playing pool with his friends at the Minoru Seniors' Centre. Viewing will be held at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 - 28th Avenue, Surrey, BC from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2005. A Memorial Service will be blessed by his treasured friend and pastor, Reverend Kutch Imayoshi at Richmond Presbyterian church, 7111 No. 2 Road, Richmond, BC on Sunday, July 3, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Rosario's name to Keats Camps, Operations Fund, 234 Brooksbank Avenue, North Vancouver, BC V7J 2C1.
